GHISOLFI BAROLO "BRICCO VISETTE" 2000
|
Stock: ghis00
The Wine Spectator bestowed a 100 point rating to the 2000 vintage in Piemonte, and for a reason. The wines are beautifully, balanced, forward and very accessible. Even though they will develop and last, some of them are a joy to drink now. Once again, Attlio Ghisolfi has fashioned a gorgeous Barolo and it is sold at a fraction of the price of some of his more "famous" neighbors.
"Very, very ripe on the nose, verging on raisins, with hints of tobacco and meat. Full-bodied, with loads of jammy character and soft tannins. Long, dense finish. A late harvest style of red. Massive. Slightly rustic now but impressive. Best after 2009. 1,000 cases made. (JS)" 94 points The Wine Spectator
